Falsely Impersonating an Officer- A person who pretends to be an officer of the law and takes it upon themselves to act as that officer in performing legal duties will be guilty of committing a third-degree felony and may be punished with probation or imprisonment of up to 5 years, and/or fines of up to $5,000.

However, if the person pretends to be an officer during the commission of a felony commits a second-degree felony and may be punished with probation or imprisonment of up to 15 years, and/or fines of up to $10,000. If, during the commission of the felony, death or personal injury of another person occurs, the impersonator will have committed a first-degree felony and may be punished with imprisonment of up to 30 years, and/or fines of up to $10,000.
